This month, Canada is coming together to take action, share resources and learn about simple steps to stop invasive species. The focus of Invasive Species Action Month is on how every person can make a difference where they live – both individually and as a community.
There are four actions being promoted this month:
- Protecting where we play when hiking, biking, camping or boating
- Being PlantWise by selecting native or non-invasive plants for our gardens
- Learning to identify common invasive species in our region
- Taking action together through events and reporting
Your actions can make a difference and inspire community stewardship. Click here for resources on how to participate in Invasive Species Action Month.
The Okanagan Invasive Species Online website is an important resource for identifying invasive species and taking action to control them. Find invasive species profiles here.
