Cyphocleonus achates (knapweed root feeder), a biological control agent for invasive knapweed
We are excited to announce that Okanagan Invasive Species Online (OISO) has published a new webpage with information on biological control of invasive plants in the Okanagan region. Biological control reunites invasive plants with their natural enemies, predominantly insects. It is a tool for achieving a balanced and healthy plant community by suppressing invasive plants to a more manageable level.
The webpage explains how biological control works and answers common questions, including how to determine if your property would be suitable for this control method. There are also profiles of biological control agents currently available in the region.
